Check the throttle body by locating and disconnecting the vacuum hose mounted on the top of the throttle body, and connecting to a vacuum gauge. Warm the engine up till the dropping the needle on a vacuum gauge starts the cooling fan running twice. If the gauge isn't indicating vacuum when lightly opened from idle verify and if so check for clogs and clean with carburetor cleaner as needed. Check throttle cable and valve for grime build up, unstick the throttle cable and valve if they stick or bind, clean or replace throttle body as required. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the air duct, throttle angle sensor connector and vacuum hoses connector and remove four mounting nuts to loosen the throttle body from the cylinder head. Installation is in the reverse order and carefully adjusted accelerator cable. Check vacuum lines for leaks or damage on the throttle control system, disconnect the hose from the dashpot diaphragm, apply vacuum to it and observe the throttle slow closing. Replace the dash pot check valve and retest if vacuum holds or releases quickly. For 1988, 1989 Integras warm engine, connect tachometer, check stalling speed and adjust. If you don't get over speed, check the vacuum gauge for backing up, or changing in the hose while the engine speed remains unchanged and replace the dashpot if vacuum is passed. Next, check and make any necessary idle speed adjustments.
