To check the wiper motor circuit, begin by examining the wiring diagrams for wire colors and locations. Use a grounded 12-volt test light to probe each terminal at the connector to verify voltage. If issues persist, consult a dealer or repair facility. For slow wiper operation, ensure the battery is charged and in good condition; if so, remove the wiper motor and manually operate the wiper arms to check for binding in the linkage or pivots, lubricating or repairing as needed before reinstalling the motor. If the wipers still operate slowly, inspect for loose or corroded connections, particularly the ground, and replace the motor if connections are intact. If the wipers do not activate, check the fuse; if it's fine, connect a jumper wire from the motor ground terminal to a good chassis ground and retest. If the motor operates, repair the ground connection; if not, check for voltage at the wiring harness connector while the wiper switch is in the HI position. If voltage is present, use fused jumper wires from the battery to test the motor. If it works, check for binding linkage; if not, replace the motor. If there's no voltage at the motor, check for voltage at the integrated control unit and test the switch for continuity if voltage is present at the control unit. For inoperative interval function, check the wiring continuity between the switch and control unit. If the wipers stop in their current position when the switch is off, check for voltage at the park feed wire with the ignition on; if absent, look for an open circuit. If the wipers won't shut off unless the ignition is off, disconnect the wiring from the wiper control switch; if they stop, replace the switch, otherwise replace the motor due to a defective limit switch. For wipers that won't retract below the hood line, check for mechanical obstructions and continuity in the wiring; if all is clear, replace the motor. For front wiper motor replacement, remove the wiper arm and cowl cover, disconnect the electrical connector, detach the wiper linkage assembly, remove the retaining bolts, and take out the motor, reinstalling in reverse order. For the rear, pull back the wiper arm cover, detach the retaining nut, remove the trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector, and take out the mounting bracket bolts to remove the motor, again reinstalling in reverse order. For the CR-V, open the rear hatch, remove the wiper motor cover, disconnect the electrical connector, and take out the mounting screws to remove the motor, reinstalling in reverse order.
