    Q:
How to remove and install a radiator on Acura Legend? Posted by Customer
    A:
Separate the negative battery cable from the battery. Apply the brake and stopper the rear wheels. Prop up the front part of your motorcar and make sure it is well supported with jackstands. Remove splash pan from below radiator. Drain cooling system. If coolant is relatively new or in satisfactory condition save it for future use. If vehicle has an automatic transaxle, disconnect cooler lines from radiator. Use a drip pan to catch fluid spills and cap off lines and connections securely Unplug wiring connector for cooling fan switch Loosen hose clamps, then remove radiator hoses from fittings. Grasp each hose near its end using a pair of slip joint pliers if they stick, twist it to break seal then pull it off - be careful not to damage radiator fittings. Cut them off and install new ones if hoses are old or deteriorated Take out engine cooling fan(s). On Legend models, unbolt front bulkhead crossmember On Integra models, take off air intake duct plus mounting bolts Carefully lift out the radiator Never spill coolant on car nor scratch paint When you have pulled out the radiator, inspect it for signs of leakage or damage In case there is repair work to be done on your car's cooling system consult a professional mechanic as this needs special skills Bugs and dirt can be washed out by spraying water at back of radiator Check if mounts are worn out then replace them where necessary The removal procedure is followed to install back in place Guide the mounts until they seat properly After installing fill in antifreeze combined with water as recommended Start engine and look for leaks Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature indicated by upper radiator hose becoming hot Recheck amount of coolant inside by adding more if needed still If you're working on an automatic transaxle equipped vehicle watch fluid level closely.
