    What steps are involved in removing the entire tailgate from the 2001 Acura MDX? Posted by Customer
    A:
    To remove the entire tailgate, open it in the drop-down position and remove the trim panel. Remove the rear bumper and energy absorbers, disconnect electrical connectors, and unbolt the striker and hinge. Close the tailgate until the top latches engage, then remove the remaining hinge bolts and striker bolts. Finally, pull the upper handle and lift the tailgate away from the bed.
