To remove the accelerator cable in these models, follow these steps: 1.Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. 2.Rotate the throttle lever cam until the cable aligns with the slot in the cam and disengage the cable. 3.Loosen the accelerator cable locknut at the cable bracket using wrenches and release the accelerator cable. 4.Trace the cable from the bracket to the firewall, removing it from any clamps or clips. 5.Locate the cable connection beneath the dash, push the upper end of the pedal forward, and disengage the cable from the pedal arm. 6.Remove the nuts securing the accelerator cable grommet to the firewall and pull the cable assembly through from the passenger compartment side.
